Leadership and People Management In Contemporary Organizations: A Literature Review On Performance and Well-Being
Leadership and people management play a central role in shaping organiza-tional performance and employee well-being in contemporary organiza-tions. As work environments become increasingly complex and dynamic, effective leadership practices are essential for fostering motivation, engage-ment, and sustainable performance. This paper presents a literature review examining the relationship between leadership approaches and people man-agement practices, with particular attention to their impact on organization-al performance and employee well-being. By synthesizing key academic contributions, the review explores how leadership styles influence motiva-tion, job satisfaction, commitment, and productivity, while also shaping organizational climate and long-term outcomes. The analysis highlights converging insights from the literature, as well as persistent challenges and limitations, including contextual dependencies and the difficulty of trans-lating leadership theories into practice. The paper contributes to a clearer understanding of how leadership and people management interact as strate-gic drivers of performance and well-being, and identifies directions for fu-ture research in this domain.
