The Political Discourse of Former Presidents of Peru Be-Tween 2016 and 2025 Through Account X

This study analyzes the political discourse of former presidents, which reflects diverse interests: personal and social. Peru has had six presidents in recent years, demonstrating the fragility or instability of its democratic system. The study ana-lyzes the discourse disseminated by each former president through social media platform X. A qualitative study was conducted based on discourse analysis using the following representative categories: presidential vacancy and coup d'état, in-justice, violations of freedom of expression, the fight against corruption, and dis-course on social protests. The study concludes that the discourse is diverse and heterogeneous, with a greater emphasis on the issue of presidential vacancy, acts of corruption, the justice system, and social protests—aspects that demonstrate the fragility of Peruvian democracy.
