Flexible In-Band Telemetry Configuration For Real-Time Network Visibility
The integration of technologies such as 5G, SDN, and IoT requires increasingly agile and adaptable network management, capable of ensuring QoS and operational efficiency through the proactive detection and resolution of anomalies. In-Band Network Telemetry (INT) stands out as a promising framework for monitoring network performance, offering granular and real-time visibility of data packets along a path. The present work proposes and implements a configuration interface for INT-MX solutions, which facilitates real-time network control and management. This solution integrates available tools and technologies to implement INT, including InfluxDB, Flask, and SocketIO, as well as the functional and technical requirements necessary for their integration into the interface. In a test environment, the proof of concept demonstrates near real-time detection and analysis capabilities of INT metadata, allowing anomaly isolation by flow and/or hop, and reducing the diagnostic time. The tests also show that performing network monitoring through the INT-MX interface has minimal impact on the data plane compared to INT-MD, which imposes greater overhead.
