Reasoning Ai Will Enhance Decision Support – Reasonably Optimal Decisions For The 2030’Es.

Management is expected to aim for best possible (efficient) decisions for the time and the context; decisions should be effective, i.e. operational and relevant; decisions should be explicable, i.e. logically consistent when met with unforeseen or unexpected developments and negative criticism. Most of these requirements can be worked out with decision analytics; there is one problem – most managers have not been able to operate this kind of models for 3-4 decades, and they do not necessarily understand (nor accept) the solutions found. A decision support system (DSS) is a human–machine, problem-solving system that aims for effective decision making with computer support to work out problems and find solutions managers could understand and apply. A modern DSS is a digital ecosystem of digital platforms that are interlinked with reasoning AI and support solving different parts of a complex decision problem even if these parts are complicated by being formed by “different understandings of the world”.
