Research On The Accessibility of Information Security Software Tools

The shortage of personnel in the field of information security can be alleviated by engaging individuals from groups that previously lacked such opportunities. Spe-cifically, the participation of visually impaired individuals in information security is rare. This study examines organizational and technical barriers contributing to this issue. We explored the adaptability of existing information security tools for blind and visually impaired users. The results of experiments on binary file anal-ysis, vulnerability identification in source codes, and the classification of suspi-cious data objects by blind individuals are published here. Based on the findings, we propose methods for designing auditory user interfaces compatible with screen readers used by visually impaired individuals, and we assess the potential of using non-speech sounds.
