Connectivity In Education In Ecuador: Study of Ict Ac-Cess In Public Institutions In The Period 2024-2025

The development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has be-come vitally important for education. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, it highlighted the deep digital divide in rural areas of Ecuador, where the lack of in-frastructure and teacher training is evident in various data collected in this re-search. Therefore, an attempt has been made to analyze the level of connectivity, access, and use of ICT in public educational institutions in the region during the period 2024–2025, taking into account key variables such as the stability of pro-perty ownership, the condition of equipment, and teacher training. A metho-dology with an inductive approach and descriptive scope was employed, using documentary review. The results show that despite high property stability, which favors long-term investment, a digital divide persists: a low percentage of rural schools have internet access compared to a high percentage of urban institutions. It also highlights that unstable equipment ownership (loan or lease) hinders ad-ministrative sustainability. It is concluded that, although there has been progress in the provision of ICT, structural inequalities limit the consolidation of fair and quality connectivity. It is therefore essential to strengthen rural infrastructure, en-sure the administrative stability of assets, and develop certain teacher training strategies to guarantee an inclusive educational process throughout the national system.
